Foster Parenting

Role of Foster Parents
Foster family homes provide a temporary environment free of abuse and neglect in which children can heal and thrive. Foster parents support the children in their care until that child can return home, be adopted, or live independently.

Our Need for Foster Parents
There are more than half a million children in the foster care system in the United States. In Adams County alone there are over 1,000 children in out of home care. Of those children, 400 – 600 are in Adams County foster care system on any given day.

Adams County needs foster families to serve children of all ages and their families. The children most in need of your help are adolescents, siblings who wish to stay together in foster care, and children with special needs. We are convinced that if the people in Adams County understand the needs of the children in our community they will respond to our call for help.
