Responsibilities and Services
The Adams County Animal Shelter / Adoption Center serves the cities of Commerce City, Federal Heights, Northglenn and Thornton, the towns of Bennett and Lochbuie, as well as unincorporated Adams County. The shelter serves as an adoption center, and also provides, lost and found, surrender, low-cost vaccine clinics, microchips, and end-of-life services for the public. Shelter administration manages citizen inquiries and maintains records of adoptions, reclaims, and billing records. The shelter also provides dog licenses for the citizens of unincorporated Adams County.
