Business Hours (excluding holidays):
Monday - Friday,  9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (adoptions/visitation over at 4:30 p.m.)
Saturday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (adoptions/visitation over at 3:30 p.m.)

The Adams County Animal Shelter/Adoption Center provides animals for adoption to the public. Within the shelter's operations, kennel services are provided for the Cities of Northglenn and Thornton and unincorporated Adams County. Shelter administration manages citizen inquiries, maintains records of adoptions, reclaims, summons and billing records.  Animal control enforces the Adams County animal control regulations and dispatches officers, when necessary, to provide animal control services

Mission Statement

To fulfill the needs of the citizens of unincorporated Adams County for animal shelter, adoption, control, housing and disposal services in the most efficient and effective manner possible, consistent with official county budgets and policies.
