The Adams County Military Family Assistance Program assists military families experiencing hardship by providing connections to military and community services and resources. This includes connecting families to employment, housing, food, clothing, counseling, education and other resources.
The goal of this program is to help families:
- Promote stability
- Address unmet needs
- Connect to resources
- Improve income
- Adjust to civilian life
- And more...
Who Can Participate?
Program participants must reside in Adams County AND meet one of the following criteria:
- Families of active duty military personnel, including personnel in the service
- Veterans and their families (regardless of discharge status)
- Widows and widowers with children of veterans
- Children of active duty personnel or veterans
- Ex-spouses with children of active duty personnel or veterans
- Non-custodial parents (active duty or veteran)
Services and Referrals
- Referrals to military-related assistance
- Job training, education and support
- Housing assistance
- Medical, dental and optical referrals
- School clothes and supplies
- Holiday assistance
- Utilities assistance
- Mental health, substance abuse and family counseling
- Legal guardianship and custody assistance
- Extracurricular activities for children
- Groups and workshops
- Budgeting assistance
The program also connects families to services provided through Adams County, including:
- Cash assistance
- Food assistance
- Medical assistance
- Child care assistance
Adams County wishes to ensure that the brave men, women and families of our armed forces who reside in Adams County are provided with the services and assistance they need. We realize that serving in the armed forces can present unique challenges to families, especially to those with family members who are currently serving or have in the past served overseas.
