A primary focus of the Workforce & Business Center is to provide people from all backgrounds with the basic resources and tools to gain and sustain long-term employment. Individualized attention ensures that job seekers identify appropriate career options and educational/training opportunities to excel in their chosen field and career.
Classes and no-cost workshops are offered by the Workforce & Business Center to assist job seekers with computer skills, job search, career assessments, résumé writing and effective interview skills. Other specialized opportunities provide qualified job seekers with more intensive training and supportive services.
Registration
Job seekers can take advantage of all Workforce & Business Center services by registering at one of our five locations. Registration is no charge. All information will be kept confidential. Your registration will be used to match you with jobs that meet your employment needs. You can also visit the Internet site ConnectingColorado to register and to access statewide employment listings online.
Career Resource Center
Receive assistance with job search, résumé building, and interview preparation. Utilize up-to-date technology with our no charge tools and services. Career Center Specialists are available to assist you Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm at each of our four Adams County Workforce & Business Center locations.
Daily Job Board
Find out about jobs before the vacancy has been filled! New job openings are posted daily at all Workforce & Business Center offices and at ConnectingColorado. Visit any Workforce & Business Center location to find out more about specific jobs and how to apply.
Unemployment Insurance Work Registration
File an Unemployment Benefits claim online at www.coworkforce.com. Workforce & Business Center staff members are available at all locations to assist you with completing your online Unemployment Insurance claim. Most Unemployment Insurance Claimants are required to register with a workforce center after filing an Unemployment Insurance claim. You can complete this registration online at ConnectingColorado or visit your local workforce center to register in person.
Veterans Program
Adams County Workforce & Business Center has specially trained staff members providing priority services to veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Our goal is to ensure that veterans receive maximum employment and training opportunities. Services include counseling, labor market information, job referrals, job search workshops, and job development with potential employers.
Workshops and Seminars
Each month, the Workforce & Business Center offers a series of no-charge introductory computer classes and several no-charge workshops designed specifically for job seekers who are registered with the workforce system. Read descriptions of the most frequently offered classes. See the calendar of events for scheduled dates and times. Then, call or visit one of Adams County Workforce & Business Center locations to register for the classes of your choice.
Disability Program
The Disability Program provides information on assistive technology, accommodations available through the Americans with Disabilities Act, and organizations that can be responsive to the specific needs of job seekers with disabilities.
Training and Education
You may be eligible to enroll in a Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program in order to enhance your current job skills and increase your employability. WIA programs can also provide financial assistance towards tuition, books, and fees at eligible training facilities.
Youth Program
The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Youth Program assists young adults with setting and achieving educational goals and employment training. We also provide resources to help you with your specific needs. Labor Market Information
Get the latest occupational information including job title descriptions, training requirements, skill descriptions, trends, and wages. Speak to a Career Center Specialist or visit some of the suggested online sites for more information.
Migrant Seasonal Farm Worker (MSFW)
Have you worked in agriculture in the last 12 months? If so, you may qualify for our Migrant and Seasonal Farm Worker Program. For more information, please click on the link.
Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) Program
Services are provided at our Thornton location for employment ready TANF participants. The staff assist TANF participants in identifying career goals and obtaining sustaining employment in order to become financially independent.
Employment First
All individuals who apply for food stamps in Colorado and do not meet federal exemption criteria must participate in Employment First program employability activities. Program orientations at the Western Service Center are conducted Mondays at 1 p.m. and Wednesdays at 8:45 a.m. Orientations at the Aurora office are conducted on Thursdays at 8:45 a.m.
