Frequently Asked Questions

The Adams County Elections Department, a division of the Clerk and Recorder's Office, conducts Federal, State, and County elections.  When requested, the department also conducts other governmental authorities' elections on a cost recovery basis.  In addition, the department maintains the voter registration database.

 Conducting elections includes, but is not limited to:

  • Input to and maintenance of voter registration database.
  • Training and supervision of precinct judges, and early voting judges.
  • Clerical and logistical preparations for voting such as preparing ballots, determining number of ballots needed, and distributing ballots and supplies.
  • Administration of early voting in person and mail-in by mail.
  • Supervision of Election Day voting.
  • Supervision of tabulation and preparation of final canvassing reports.
  • The Elections Department preserves voter registration applications, official election documents and candidate campaign disclosures.
