The County Clerk and Recorder is an elected official of Adams County and serves the public as set forth in Colorado State Statutes. Through offices situated in various locations throughout the County, the Clerk and Recorder's Office records documents, files maps, issues marriage licenses, registers voters, handles elections and prepares and issues motor vehicle titles and plates.
Elections Accepts and maintains new voter registrations and changes to current voter registrations. Provides detailed as well as statistical reports. Forwards voter records and election history and abstracts to the Secretary of State's Office.
Marriage License A marriage license may be issued in any county and used in any county in the State of Colorado. However, the license must be used within 30 days from the date of issue. The license is issued the day it is applied for and may be used immediately.
Motor Vehicle As mandated by statute, provides filing of mortgages, titling and registration of all vehicles and equipment within Adams County, including collection and distribution of taxes and fees.
Real Estate Records and files documents of real estate, maps, Uniform Commercial Code, marriage licenses, and others. Provides a Grantor/Grantee index for searching and retrieval of recorded documents. Provides copies for the public upon payment and request.
