American Correctional Association – The accrediting organization that sets the standards by which the Adams County Detention Facility operates.
AD SEG – Administrative Segregation. This status separates an inmate from the general population due to medical issues, non-voluntary behavioral issues (e.g. mental health challenges), threats to their well-being, or upon request with a documented reason.
ARB – Administrative Review Board – This Board meets on an as needed basis to review inmates with extended behavioral issues that require management intervention.
B & B – Bag and Baggage – The inmate is packing to leave the facility whether RTOJ or STR.
COC – Contempt Of Court
COMM CORR – Community Corrections
CPV – Community Placement Violation
CRB – Classification Review Board – This Board weekly reviews inmate status, particularly those inmates who are in disciplinary or administrative segregation, are juveniles, or have restrictions from other inmates in the facility.
CSOC – County Sheriffs of Colorado
DISC. SEG. – Disciplinary Segregation. This status separates an inmate from the general population due to inappropriate behavioral issues, rule violations, and/or criminal activity while in custody.
DOC – (Colorado) Department of Corrections
FTA – Failure to Appear
Indigent – An inmate is considered indigent if he/she maintains a balance of less than $1 in their commissary account for seven continuous days.
Infirmary – See “Medical Unit”
Kite – a multi-page document that allows inmates to communicate important issues in writing.
Medical Unit – The Facility unit that treats inmate health issues
MPOS – Mail/POStage
P & P – Policy and Procedure – The rules and regulations followed by Sheriff’s Personnel
PC – Protective Custody
RTOJ – ReTurn to Other Jurisdiction – an inmate has finished serving time in Adams County and must now be transferred to another jurisdiction to meet legal obligations there.
RTS – Return To Sender
SRP – Supervised Release Program
Store – Inmate Commissary – A method of providing inmates with more creature comforts than they are issued. All items are facility approved and safe to purchase for all concerned.
STR – Served Time – Release – This applies when an inmate serves out his/her sentence and is released from custody.
UA – UrinAlysis
WR – Work Release
